To Develop Emphaty
6th Floor Alliance House, 29-30 High Holborn, WC1V 6AZ
The primary goal of "Walk2Water" is to help students understand and empathise with the water crisis in Africa. Through presentations and engaging activities, we aim to raise awareness about this critical issue and encourage fundraising efforts to support solutions.
The event is designed to last approximately 90 minutes.
Students of all ages are welcome.
There are no anticipated disadvantages or side effects of taking part in this study. However, during the short rally pupils will be given the chance to carry water-filled jerry cans to experience the ongoing situation in Africa. This can potentially cause muscle pain to an unharmful extent. The weights would be kept at a level that is safe for their age and they will be asked if they want to take part or not.
Increased awareness and personal satisfaction of contributing.
The activity is designed to raise awareness about the daily struggles of people in Africa who walk long distances to access clean water. Participants carry water cans to simulate this experience and gain a deeper understanding of the global water crisis.
The walk typically covers [], which represents the average distance many people in water-scarce regions must travel to collect water.
No, participants can choose to carry water cans for part of the walk or the entire distance based on their comfort level. We aim to make the experience educational and engaging, not overly strenuous.
There is no participation fee, but we encourage donations to help fund our water well projects in Africa.
We recommend registering in advance to help us plan and ensure we have enough resources for all participants, but walk-ins are welcome on the day of the event.
Participants are encouraged to bring water bottles to stay hydrated, comfortable walking shoes, and sun protection (hats, sunscreen). We will provide the water cans for the simulation.
By raising awareness and collecting donations through this activity, we fund water well projects that bring clean, safe water to communities in need, improving health, education, and quality of life.
By combining the amounts collected by other volunteers, we will make sure it adds up to the required amount.
Rest assured that 90% of your donation will go directly towards supporting the project and making a positive impact. In addition, the remaining 10% will be invested in our fundraising efforts, allowing us to reach even more people and make an even greater impact.
The timeline can vary depending on location, weather conditions, and logistical challenges, but typically, it takes several weeks to a few months to complete a well, from the start of construction to full operation.
No, every contribution makes a difference. All donations help us get closer to our goal of providing clean water to communities in need.
We provide regular updates on the progress of all our well projects, including photos and videos on the website.
