With the VR headset, we saw what they went through and how happy they were when they got water. Little help can make bigger impacts

I especially recommend the whole action of VR headset because that is the closest the students can get to a first-hand experience. That is why in order to emphasize with the kids there, especially at their age. I would definitely recommend this for other schools to do as well.

As my experience in Uganda, I have been living there for 5 years. There is so many people who are walking in the streets without shoes. They were carrying lots of water. It was too heavy for them to walk around because they were children, and some children walk around who are 6 years old, they are carrying babies on their backs because their moms have to do work and stuff. They cannot go to school because of that.

Understanding how to help others in terms of the water charity has been absolutely incredible. It is a day everyone is going to remember.

I was saying to our children today it's more important, the ability to understand or to start to understand than the English and maths and uh science and such like, because one day is not going to be it we need to carry on with this sort of thing and in in terms of the connections with the dialogue Society but you know as many cultures just has been an incredible day and the children have learned so much they've got so much from the day.

We've had a wonderful day today here talking to the children about walk for water we've learned Lots about places in Africa who need some new fresh running water and we're very excited to be helping you to raise some money for this very important event we've had a great day learning about it with some water challenges tomorrow the children are doing a sponsored run and we're going to be raising some money to help to get the 1200 pounds needed for the water well in Africa which we're so excited to do and we're hoping to have a partnership where we're going to continue to raise money for this really good walk for water event with our children here at Tyneview Primary School

Personally, I felt very powerful because I know in today’s world there is lots of awareness about this issue but a small amount of acts that take place in general days. Doing this and raising awareness in London I think is very important. It is a very big community and it will actually allow us to help the people in need in Africa.

As women, we can feel the need for water more because everything is on the women’s shoulders and unfortunately it is not easy to reach to water whenever you want, like how we just open the tap easily here. We are aware of the need but feeling the need for water, even though I saw the need with my own eyes, carrying the bottle here today was totally different.

It fits very nicely with our curriculum. Part of our curriculum is to follow sustainable development goals. It fits with the number 6. Many of our children don’t have any experience with VR at all. It is a big thing for them. I tried it myself and thought it was fantastic

Carrying the bottle back and forwards with the hopes of finding something is… it’s the weight of water but also the weight of how important it is.

I can't imagine that women and children have to walk 6km every single day to get access to water, not even clean water just the idea that they have to do this every single day is overwhelming. Anything we can do to support them, to make clean water accessible to them we must do what we can.
